This week has been chock-full of deadlines, copy editing and a heaping dose of nerves (we’re launching a new print project next spring!). So I’ve been leaning hard on some of my favorite web distractions to keep my spirits high and help me push through long writing sessions. This morning I’m sharing two of favorite things online: cats jumping for joy (This is a thing! A whole feed!) and the colorful artwork of illustrator Elana Boils.
Have you ever seen anything as joyful as cats leaping in the air" They are tiny acrobats who (almost) always fall on their feet and look like modern dancers when they spring into action. This Japanese Instagram feed documents their mid-air adventures and makes any down day feel like it’s right back on track. Now if only I could get our cat off the couch and into some jumping fun.
In the realm of human joy, I have been loving the cheerful colors that artist Elena Boils uses in her work. I found her through Women Who Draw and can’t get enough of the sherbet hues she uses in her work. If you need a visual pick-me-up, check out her work online right here. xo, grace
