There are few things I love more in a home than funny little nooks, exposed beams, and angled walls that make a space feel like a tree house or a doll house. Those special moments make a home memorable for me and make me feel like a little kid again, wanting to decorate a doll house from top to bottom. The #14 spot on our Design*Sponge Top 20 Home Tours of All Time list belongs to a house that has exactly that feeling to me: Emily and Bill’s Massachusetts farmhouse. Originally built in the 1830s, this beautiful farmhouse felt so perfect that Emily, a stylist, and her husband Bill, who works as the marketing and outreach director of a nonprofit group, made an offer one day after the house went on the market. Their offer was accepted and they were delighted to find a space with so much historic detail that could be a home to their family and Emily’s growing business. Their kitchen is one of my favorites we’ve ever run, so I was delighted to relive and revisit this tour and all of its amazing exposed wooden beams. And of course, their sweet pup, Bruno! Enjoy! xo, Grace
