A Slovenian home with a perforated exterior with diagonal crosses that result in a dramatic facade.

Located within the city of Ljubljana, Slovenia, the Villa Criss-Cross Envelope was designed by OFIS arhitekti with a perforated metal exterior composed of layered sheets with diagonal crosses that result in a dramatic facade. The residence incorporates an ancient Roman retaining wall that leads to the Ple?nik Pyramid, designed by Slovenian architect Jo?e Ple?nik, which brings a bit of old to the new structure.

Behind the metal facade, there’s an internal structure made from exposed concrete walls and a wooden shell resulting in a modern yet cozy space.
The three-story residence, which houses a family with three children, = focuses on less walls for a more open concept. Instead, spaces are separated by levels. The ground floor is the main living area, the first floor belongs to the children, and the third floor is strictly for the parents.

Throughout the interior, Listone Giordano wooden floors set the stage for the light and airy home.
