Two Halves Mirror Designed by Mario Tsai for Grado
A three-dimensional wall mirror (plus shelf!) that plays with light and shadows.
Designer Mario Tsai explores spatial dimensions in his latest work designed for Grado, where a simple wall mirror plays with light and shadows. The Two Halves Mirror looks to be an elongated oval steel frame that was bent and shaped into its open, three-dimensional structure, resulting in two vertical planes.
The two halves, which are connected through the semicircular bends, push the mirror out and away from the wall. A gridded shelf makes up the bottom of the design, extending out hold umbrellas or scarves
Depending on how the light hits, shadows form and change, adding an artistic element to the already multifunctional piece.
