MEJD studio created the TOOL collection of lamps and candleholders using the traditional metal casting method. Working with aero-concrete forms, they use tools, like a drill, to carve out openings for the liquid aluminum to fill. Once it’s hardened, the molds are chiseled away revealing unexpected forms that they turn into various objects. Take a look to see how they’re made:

Each mold is completely unique as they create them intuitively as they work, therefore never knowing what the end product is going to look like.
