TON Launches the Chips Lounge Chair by Lucie Koldová
A bold, oversized lounge chair that's designed to resemble a potato chip.
Czech designer Lucie Koldová recently designed an oversized lounge chair for TON that will make its debut at IMM Cologne 2018. Chips is a bold chair with a large backrest made of perforated fabric giving it a visually light feel but a comfortable spot to lean against. Paired with upholstered cushions for additional comfort, Chips was created as part of the Das Haus project, an exhibition displaying ideas of living in the future at IMM Cologne this month.
The base and backrest’s frames are constructed of manually bent wood that results in the back resembling the shape of a Pringles potato chip, hence the chair’s name. Koldová loves working with translucent materials, leading to the stretched black fabric which helps illustrate the soft curves.
