The Noah lighting collection is personal to designer Filippo Mambretti ? it’s a tribute to the birth of his son named Noah. Created for Gantri, the lights resemble one of the most obvious signs of motherhood: a round, pregnant belly. Mambretti designed the diffuser and shade to represent the beauty of two souls residing in one body as new life is created.
The larger idea behind Noah’s designs is that both life and light bring us hope for what’s to come, all in a minimal package. The light from the table, wall, and floor lamps feels warm, comforting, and protective. The Noah Table Light’s bulbous shape brings a necessary softness to sharper pieces in a room. Meanwhile, the Noah Wall Light adds a spot of warmth to the bedside and can also act as ceiling lighting. Lastly, the Noah Floor Light’s slim silhouette adds an unexpected focal point to any room.
While Mambretti was born into generations of furniture makers, and eventually earned a masters degree in furniture design, his love of design was revealed much earlier.
