The Kozmophone Is a Holographic, Bluetooth Turntable
Imagine a turntable with a portable and detachable phonograph-style horn speaker and a miniature holographic display.
This year marks the 140th anniversary of the phonograph, the brainchild of prolific inventor and original scratch master, Thomas Edison. We think he’d be quite pleased learning his invention still remains relevant today, with numerous iterations of his landmark design still spinning with needles on grooves in homes everywhere. What he might have never imagined is that one day his audio-oriented invention would also include a holographic display.
The Kozmophone is a newly proposed modular speaker and turntable concept that shares Edison’s horn-style speaker design while also adding modern day touches like the flair of 6 color options, a detachable and portable horn speaker element, and Bluetooth connectivity and playback (of course).
This is all fine and dandy, but not wholly unexpected noting numerous turntables on the market offer some, a combination, or all of the same features. Where the Kozmophone distinguishes itself is with a technological gimmick of sorts: a holographic display inside the player’s main cylinder housing.
The Kozmophone designers promise the ability for users to choose from a selection of holographic animations to accompany playback, a wild and weird idea we’re totally into. Details about duration, resolution, or complexity of each holographic images are currently unavailable, but images of flying no...
