The Bulbous Series Celebrates Old School Woodturning Skills
The Bulbous series by Studio Sain, in collaboration with Hermann Viehauser, is lighthearted fun partnered with fine craftsmanship.
Created for 2019’s Vienna Design Week Passionswege program, in collaboration with Viennese woodturner Hermann Viehauser, the Bulbous series by Studio Sain is lighthearted fun partnered with fine craftsmanship. Over time woodturning has begun to go by the wayside as a skill set, but Bulbous makes a point of celebrating the unique technical skills required to hand-turn objects and create original pieces. The Bulbous series contains moveable lights, a mirror, and shelves, each with seamless components that join together beautifully. The conceptual thoughts and processes used to design and create the series results in a successful marriage of form and function.
