The Afternoon Tea Furniture Collection Is Bohinc Studio?s Most Ambitious Yet
Playful + feminine, the hallmarks of the Afternoon Tea collection are its spheres + circles with only a few straight lines + angles.
At this year’s London Design Festival, Bohinc Studio debuted their Afternoon Tea furniture collection by mixing modern and traditional in a townhome turned showroom. Designed by Lara Bohinc and composed of nine pieces, it’s the studio’s largest, most ambitious collection to date. Playful and feminine, the hallmarks of this series are the spheres and circles used throughout with only a straight line or angle here and there.
The pandemic forced us all to spend more time at home, and I realized I wanted my pieces to make you feel loved, cocooned and happy. I also wanted to create pieces that look like they are good enough to eat. The collection?s name is an appreciation of the sweet comfort of an afternoon tea ? happy, joyful and indulgent moments, a time when friends and family meet; an occasion very much missed in recent times. ? Lara Bohinc, Designer
Materials used within Afternoon Tea play an important role, creating contrast between soft textured upholstery with marble, stained wood and metal. Overall the dining chairs, armchairs, sofa, coffee and occasional tables feel warm and welcoming. All pieces are made by hand in the studio workshops in Europe and U.K..
