Studio Cober is showing new pieces, primarily made of fiberglass + resins, as well as previous work at a show at St. Vincents in Antwerp.

Studio Cober, aka Lukas Cober, has an upcoming exhibition debuting at St. Vincents in Antwerp September 29th that will run through November 19th. The interdisciplinary design studio will be showing new pieces, primarily made of fiberglass and resin, as well as previous work from the Kuro and New Wave collections. What they all have in common is an aesthetic expressed through shape and materiality. Cober combines craftsmanship with his knowledge of materials to create unique furniture collections that emphasize raw materials.
New Wave Stool
The Kuro collection was Cober’s introduction to the industry, and for this exhibition he built upon it as well as his second collection, New Wave. Kuro uses freehand shapes and graphic lines in an experiment in finding pure shape and materiality. It also features a touch of a cartoonish effect thanks to its curves and proportions. New Wave puts Cober’s infatuation for the ocean on display, and is characterized by hand-layering fiberglass cloth with resin. Bits and pieces are removed to make the shapes come into being. All of these timeless, minimalist pieces are defined by architectural lines, sculptural flow, and organic shapes. New Wave Stool
