Pro-Ject Audio Artist Collection Puts a Spin on Turntable Art
Limited edition audiophile-grade turntables embellished with details and designs inspired by the music and musicians themselves.
Pro-Ject Audio Debut line turntables look as good as they sound, with sleek carbon fiber finishes representing the contemporary resurgence of analog appreciation. They’ve become a standard for their simple set-up, and are outfitted with components that belie their affordable price tag: metal platter, carbon tube arm, and Ortofon 2M Red moving-magnet cartridge ? all reasons I ended up purchasing one of their decks myself. But while most of Pro-Ject Audio turntables are finished with a reserved minimalist eye, their Artist Collection lets things loose, with designs more flamboyantly inspired by music and the musicians themselves. The pop-op detailing of the special edition Primary DelaDap Wave turntable was designed in collaboration with DelaDap, an Austrian Electronic-Jazz band.
A 1000 PS01-Wave turntables were designed in collaboration with musician Parov Stelar, each outfitted with a stiff carbon fiber tone arm, acrylic platter, belt drive design, and most noticeably, embellished with lined artwork.
If you know the song, you’re undoubtedly singing it in your head by now. The wild special edition ships with its own yellow Ortofon Concorde cartridge, called Sonar to complete the Beatles-inspired deck design.
Just 500 of these entirely white, 2Xperience The Beatles White Album turntables have been made.
