McKinley Bungalow is a minimalist residence located in Montauk, New York, designed by Robert McKinley. McKinley’s newest property expands upon the success of their first bungalow’s shoppable stay concept, outfitted with furniture and objects hand-selected by the architect, all of which are available for purchase.
Drawing inspiration from Montauk’s coastline, the architect approached the space with a clean and modern aesthetic, paired with the casual elegance of Europe’s seaside towns. The bungalow features a careful selection of the architect’s favorite brands and products, ranging from the furniture and appliances down to the bedding and accessories. The 2400-square-foot home was originally built in the 1970s, and received a modern update while maintaining some of its original details. High vaulted ceilings make way for large Noguchi paper lanterns, while the main living areas are opened up to introduce a seamless flow from the living room to kitchen to outdoor deck.
