A design-driven cat collection aimed to strengthen the bond between cats and their people.

We’ve said it before that products for cats have gradually been improving over the years, thankfully going beyond those carpeted trees that have been around for decades. The latest to be doing this industry justice is Benjamin Hubert and his design agency LAYER, who’ve designed a collection for New York-based startup, Cat Person. The LAYER x Cat Person collection comprises two products, the Canopy Bed and the Mesa Bowl, both aiming to strengthen the bond between cats and their people.

Cat Person hails from the entrepreneurs that launched subscription shaving company Harry’s, and if it’s anything like their inaugural success, Cat Person will follow right in line with their unique cat products. With millennials owning about 35% of the pets in the US, it makes sense that designers are working hard to appeal to their design sense. After studying up on feline behavior, LAYER went to work and created a playful collection with mix-and-match colors and sculptural forms that easily work in modern homes.
The Canopy Bed is a 3-in-1 bed that adapts to your cat’s needs throughout the day. With most cats sleeping up to 17 hours per day, a cozy sleeping spot is a must for them to be able to retreat to.
