Darren Rubenstein, property developer, and first-time hotelier, dreamt of United Places as the intersection of hotel and home; its twelve suites each meant to be spacious living quarters, a true home away from home. ?United Places is a creative platform, built upon my very own experiences in design, travel, and hospitality. I wanted to create a ?home? for the traveler seeking experiences that celebrate locality? says Rubenstein.
Rubenstein has worked with a number of Australia?s most esteemed creatives to bring his vision together. Celebrated design firm, CARR was commissioned for the hotel?s architecture and interiors, while Melbourne creative studio, Projects of Imagination created the branding. Award-winning Chef, Scott Pickett runs the ground-floor restaurant, Matilda, which offers guests complimentary breakfast daily and in-room dining.
Upon arrival, guests are greeted by the building?s stunning yet unassuming facade and ring the doorbell. They?re then introduced to a member of the expertly-trained staff and whisked down the hallway and up to their rooms to be checked-in.
