DIY Succulent Valentines
With Valentine’s Day coming up, I wanted to make something cute and easy to pass out to friends and teachers. I settled on these sweet DIY Succulent Valentines, and I just love how cute they are!
DIY Succulent Valentines
Supplies:
All of these supplies are from Hobby Lobby, unless otherwise stated.
A real or fake succulent (I used real potted succulents from the grocery store.)
A small terra-cotta pot that fits the size of your succulents
Craft paint in the color you wish to paint your pot. I used Aviary Blue from Folk Art
A paint brush
Cupcake picks with burlap flag
Heart stickers
Letter stickers (I made mine on my Silhouette Cameo using vinyl.)
To make your DIY Succulent Valentines, begin by dry-brushing your terra cotta pot. When I say “dry brush” I mean to dip the tips of your paint brush into the paint, dab off the excess, and lightly sweep the paint onto the pot. The idea is to have a distressed finish, so you’re just barely covering the pot with the paint, leaving brush strokes and some terra cotta showing through.
After the paint has dried, add letter stickers to the front of the pot. I chose “I’m a succ-er for you” for these Valentine’s Day gifts!
I wanted these DIY Succulent Valentines to have some definite Valentine flare, so I painted these little wooden heart stickers pink and stuck them onto the cupcake picks.
