DIY Guest Bathroom Remodel
My DIY bathroom renovation has so many design elements that you could consider for your own remodel!
It’s such an exciting day on the blog today! Four weeks ago, I announced that we were going to remodel our guest bathroom as part of the New Year New Room Refresh Challenge. Three weeks ago the supplies started arriving. Today, I get to share our entire DIY Guest Bathroom Remodel that we completed from start to finish in about two weeks. I have to admit, I did not know how this would go. We have never challenged our DIY skills quite to this extent. It was our first tiling experience, and our first project that was on a tight timeline. But, you guys, WE DID IT!!! And, if I do say so myself, we NAILED it!
Guest Bathroom Before:
As a reminder, here is what the bathroom looked like before the remodel. It was, by far, my least favorite spot in the house.
The BAthroom Renovation Plan and Materials:
Replace old vinyl flooring with beautiful Jeffery Court Basalt Herringbone Tile from Home Depot
We used VersaBond Gray Fortified Thinset Mortar, 1/4″ x 1/4″ Notched Trowels, and 1/4″ inch Cement Backerboard, and 1 1/4″ Backerboard Screws
We used the RYOBI 9 Amp 7 in. Overhead Wet Tile Saw with the Universal Water Pump and 7 in. Tile Blade to cut the mosaic tile
To seal our stone tile (before grouting), we used Impregnantor Penetrating Sealer
We grouted with Fusion Pro in “Oyster Gray” grout and used 1/16 i...
