BROOKLYN DESIGNS kicks off NYCxDESIGN 2018 at the Brooklyn Museum from May 11-13!
It?s officially May which means NYCxDESIGN is just around the corner! For its 15th edition, BROOKLYN DESIGNS will be kicking off the first weekend from May 11-13, 2018 with an exhibition to highlight and celebrate the borough?s creative community, presented at the Brooklyn Museum by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and co-produced with Novità Communications. There?s a lot to see for the three days of the exhibition, so here?s what you can expect:
Textiles Art Center
The show?s program includes a list of talks, presentations, and even a two-hour guided walking tour of Prospect Park to discuss the borough?s burgeoning hub of creativity. Jonathan Marvel, the founding Principal of Marvel Architects, is this year?s keynote speaker. He?ll be chatting with Paul Makovsky, the Vice President of Design at Metropolis, about the future of the Brooklyn skyline and his projects that currently line the sky. The show will also feature special installations, including an exhibit of historic ceramics from Brooklyn dating back to the 19th century from the museum?s decorative arts collection, a showcase from the Textiles Art Center, and a presentation by Pratt Institute GAUD?s M.S.Arch program of student prototypes with AR components.
