Decorating a Mantel with Blues
It really doesn’t matter which season it is, I always love decorating with blue. Turquoise, navy, light blue, dark blue…I love them all, really. When I spotted this painting about a month ago, it instantly inspired me to go with a coastal look for my spring mantel this year. I’m actually pretty proud to say it’s the only new thing I’m using in my spring decor…everything else was already part of the decor stash collection I have hoarded carefully curated over the years.
Today, I’m sharing my mantel as part of the Color Loving Spring Home blog hop hosted by the sweet and lovely Carrie from Lovely Etc. Be sure to check out all of the amazing and colorful inspiration at the end of this post.
Like I mentioned above, this blue, coastal-inspired mantel was inspired by the canvas art I found at Marshall’s about a month or so ago. I felt like the canvas needed a frame, so my husband and I whipped one up one afternoon. The wood frame really added warmth and contrast that the art needed against the giant window frame.
I was watching an episode of Fixer-Upper recently, and I was inspired by the way Jojo used cutting boards on a mantel…did you see that one"! It would have never occurred to me to use a cutting board on a mantel, but I love it! The cutting boards really play so nicely with the cheerful and warm wood tone of the frame, don’t you think"
A cutting board on the mantel…whoR...
