Cerno Introduces the Penna Lighting Collection that Mixes Wood, Leather, and Brass
Cerno's Penna Collection of lighting, merges wood, leather, and brass to form a fixture that perfectly balances utility with elegance.
Last month during ICFF, Cerno launched the Penna Collection of lighting, merging wood, leather, and brass to form a fixture that perfectly balances utility with elegance. When thinking of elongated hanging fixtures, those old fluorescent lights might come to mind at first but will quickly dissipate upon checking out Penna.
The walnut wooden body with brass accents hangs suspended by a matching leather strap, displaying unique and sophisticated ways of using the simple materials. The design forgoes the typical hiding of connectors and fasteners and instead incorporates them beautifully into the fixture.
?When designing Penna, I wanted to illuminate the wood body of the fixture to showcase the grain with a continuous linear light source that would deliver diffuse ample light without point sources,? says designer Nick Sheridan. ?The way the sloped wood body emulates the leather strapping used in the fixture?s suspension creates harmony and balance in the fixture?s silhouette.?
The Penna Collection includes a pendant fixture and wall sconce, both of which can be used in various applications, from residential to commercial. The pendant is available in two sizes (40″ and 64″) and in two finishes, natural or dark stained walnut.
