A new collection is launched each summer by Max ID NY, this year branching out into smaller, more accessible goods ? like ceramics.
Max ID NY, founded by entrepreneur and designer Maximilian Eicke, specializes in furniture design with the goal of creating collections that bring a fresh, comfortable aesthetic to the design world. A new collection is launched every summer at their flagship location in the Hamptons, New York, with this year seeing them branch out into smaller, more accessible goods.
Maximilian, who is currently embarking on a development project in Bali, had the urge to take on the objective of designing every object inside the compound ? including the buildings themselves ? in a very Frank Lloyd Wright-like manner.
The Yahochu (meaning “I want” in Russian slang) ceramics collection was in development for three years before the perfect manufacturer was found in Bali, who could bring the 28 designs to life with the materials, style, and quality that Maximilian required. High-end manufacturer Gaya Ceramics creates the line of handmade porcelain and stoneware home goods, that ranges from dinnerware and flatware to decorative items, for Max ID NY.
Each of the pieces is hand thrown on a wheel before any additional stages, such as trimming, cutting, or filing, to get the desired geometrical effect out of the perfectly round shapes. The dinnerware and serveware use the same porcelain body that through either reduction firing or oxidation firing...
