This new addition to Marfa is a minimalist marvel that has been thoughtfully designed by Houston-based architecture firm Carlos Jimenez Studio taking it from the original namesake hotel (that welcomed cowboys and railroad travelers until 1929) to today?s Judd-worthy contemporary art and design hotel hotspot. The hotel itself (naturally, being in Marfa) houses an impressive 300 original, curated works from artists like Mark Flood, Christopher Wool, Jeremy Deprez to Jeff Elrod that are displayed all over the public hotel spaces but also throughout the 55 rooms, allowing guests of the hotel a more intimate experience with each piece.
And for locals or visitors not spending the night, Hotel Saint George has quickly become the town meeting spot with its buzzing lobby bar/café, the carefully curated Marfa Book Co. collection which takes residence on the ground floor and LaVenture, a restaurant helmed by executive chef Allison Jenkins (previously of laV Restaurant & Wine Bar in Austin and nominated for 2015 Food ...
