Sorry for the few weeks silence, I was away for nearly a week over Easter and have thrown myself into my art since I returned, so this post is well overdue. Generally, I post images of homes with large dining spaces, however not everyone has the opportunity of a luxurious dining space, so, if your looking to down size or need some space saving ideas, then read on.
Before you think about planning or shopping for a small dining space, you need to think about your style, size of the space, adjoining rooms and existing furnishing. Small space dining means having to re think that large, long, refectory table for possibly, an oak drop leaf or an extension table. Alternatively, round dining tables are perfect for small areas. Think also about the choice of chairs, keep things neat and tidy when it comes to chairs, simple chairs or for a classic look add some slip covers. Another great space saving idea is to use built in seating either incorporated into a nook or up against a wall, there are some great illustrations of this idea below.
