For The Love Of Lace

I'm A Lover of Lace

I’m A Lover of Lace.
The sun is out and the heat of summer is well and truly here. By this time of year, we’ve started a shift in our wardrobes in order to face the warmth; the knitwear is out and the lighter layers are in.
We’ve swapped the boots for mules and the jackets for kaftans, but the evening wear still remains amiss. It’s too warm for the full length, concealed styles yet too much exposure and it’s not quite our comfort zone.
Then we remember the lace dress and they tick every box.
The ideal length: a midi or a little below the knee to flatter the leg. The right amount of coverage: not too much on show, leaving more to the imagination. A delicate pattern boosts the sophistication appeal; lace is sumptuous, romantic and made for the evenings. Weather-resistant; not too hot and not too cold, the ultimate versatile piece for every season.
Lace dresses have always been a favourite; one is packed each and every holiday, and we’d feel lost without them. There’s never too much of the pattern – the more ornate the better, but the sparser designs are just as beautiful.
Lace Dress Style Notes
Pair a simple heel with a more ornate style of lace – too much detail in the shoe will make the outfit busy and draw attention away from the dress.
If going for a lighter shade, try a nude heel. This will keep the look soft and subtle.
