Wattles Mansion Showcase
Today, we explore a piece of Hollywood history and the 2017 Designer Showcase? a classic 1908 Mission estate revived for today?s contemporary lifestyle.
This home originally belonged to famous financier Gurdon Wattles who invested in early Hollywood ventures and now serves as a platform for showcasing the latest in interior design. We?re excited to take you on a journey of past and present Hollywood influence and the only remaining example of a pre-film industry Hollywood estate.
We start on the patio, a lush green entryway with original arched windows and doors typical of Mission style estates. The open, covered space is perfect for hosting!
Next, we work our way into the living room, a kaleidoscope of color, texture, and rich accents honoring the history of the home and Hollywood roots. The little surprises throughout give this space a unique feel: from the monochromatic tree in the corner to the painted ceiling to the abstract imaginations decorating the wall!
Blending modern artistry with classic, rich paintings creates a beautiful gallery wall!
Any estate worth their weight will have multiple living rooms and seating areas. With so much design inspiration, we?re happy to journey through them all! Old meets new is the motto of the day in this extraordinary home.
Hollywood glamor is alive and well throughout this space! The beautiful woodwork, gilded accents, and filigree painted ceiling ooze early 1900?s handiwork and vision.
