Warming Up a White Kitchen
Hello everyone!
I love the color white. That's no secret. But, besides texture, the warmth of natural wood is a great way to warm up the space when you have a lot of white in a room. I wanted to share some examples of that in my kitchen.
Kitchens can seem cold if you don't have a lot of color so bringing in something to soften the space is a welcome addition. Besides draperies, using upholstered or slip covered furniture is a great way to do that. I have a pine farmhouse table with wooden cross back chairs that I love. But, I recently added these white slip covered chairs to the ends that are soft and have adorable ties on the back.
I also changed out my light fixture from a pendant light to this open framed lantern.
I love how it looks at night with the little candle bulbs lit up. The shape of the lantern was more substantial than the pendant light that was here.
Back over on the countertop, I've used some wood pieces to contrast with the white. This round cutting board is being used under this boxwood topiary.
And this wooden tray is being used underneath this pitcher of flowers. This is all that's left of my anniversary bouquet.
At my sink area, I like to have everything within hands reach. So, I tried to make it more attractive with pretty soap bottles and wooden brushes. Setting everything in white containers keeps it tidy.
And finally, a patterned rug in front of the sink always feels good...
