Our DIY TV Cabinet
Hello everyone!
How was your weekend" Mine was full of white stuff! We got some snow and ice and it stuck around all weekend. We live on a hill with a shady driveway so it stayed icy and kept us from leaving the house. So, today, I'm ready to leave the nest and spread my wings since I've been cooped up all weekend. It sure was pretty to look at though!
I wanted to share the DIY project that my husband did for our TV. We use to have a tall cabinet to house our TV in next to the fireplace. But, when I decided to open up that wall by moving some of the large pieces of furniture away from the fireplace, we had to come up with a plan for our TV. We thought about getting a brand new smaller cabinet, but then my husband realized that we could remove the upper half of the cabinet and replace it with a smaller platform to hold our TV. So, he went to work in our garage building a new platform to hold our TV and cable box.
We also have a sound bar that he needed a place for. So, he made sure to make room for that as well. A custom box was the perfect solution for us. It was less expensive than buying a new cabinet too!
I painted it to match the bottom half of the cabinet.
And here is the finished product all set up and ready to enjoy!
It no longer looks like the elephant in the room and fits the space much better than what we had before.
You know what I wish I could see more of now" &...
