Our kitchen gets a lot of use during the wintertime. In other seasons, you can generally find my daughter and I outside, either prepping the garden or harvesting, but during the colder months, a few burners and the oven are on often. Being busy in the kitchen is a great way to stay near a heat source and the results are nourishing and tasty.
Today I’m sharing four ways to prep your kitchen for cold weather with some products and tools I use and a couple of delicious recipes to create using them! There are some great gift picks in here too for those who are “on it” when it comes to holiday shopping! –Caitlin Image above: Merry Lake’s New Orleans kitchen. See the full home tour here.
Baking can be a worthwhile endeavor during the cold season. Waking up on Sunday morning and making muffins for breakfast and the rest of the week is a great way to start the day — and a motivating way to start a personal bake-off for the first half of the day. Not only will you have a snack for a cozy afternoon read, but the rest of your week will be filled with homemade edibles, too!
