Our Checking In and Living In columns have become the place here on Design*Sponge where fantasy rules, and it’s pretty darn fun to pen them. Schitt’s Creek is one of those shows that makes you take pause from the disaster that is the nightly news or, let’s be honest, the news cycle that now lasts all day and all night and hovers around us like a specter of doom. That’s why television shows (where we can escape from reality) are so damn important right now. When one checks into the small town of Schitt’s Creek and the Rosebud Motel, you’re whisked away into the charming lives of the formerly wealthy — now down on their luck — Rose family and the characters who live in a world very different from the Roses’ previous lives. If you haven’t watched the show yet, put it on your list for ASAP. It will help you laugh your way through the holidays. There’s even a Holiday special that debuted last night on Pop TV if you have a robust cable package. I don’t have one so I tune into the show via Netflix and watch the seasons on repeat.
In the spirit of the holidays, and perhaps to continue down...
