Designer Jaime Hayon  is taking over Milan Design Week with a one-of-a-kind display of Caesarstone. Instead of using the material as a countertop, Hayon designs intricate furniture and décor pieces implementing multiple colors of Caesarstone quartz in each.

The Spanish designer kick-started his career in the ?Mediterranean Digital Baroque? and ?Mon Cirque? installations that blurred the lines between art, decoration and design. This year, he is showcasing Stone Age Folk at Milan Design Week 2017 at the Palazzo Serbelloni. Hayon?s signature tribal masks and clown faces are on display alongside carousels and furniture all created out of Caesarstone.

Enter the creative mind of Jaime Hayon in his kaleidoscope-like installation inspired by flora, fauna and folklore of various cultures. Hayon has experimented with art and technology over the years and would ask, ?What can material achieve to bring us to something new"? His answer- make simple furniture into surreal pieces.
Hayon took tables, cabinets, mirrors and played with the material to create something new - functional or not. He decided to not focus on what the material is, but what the material can do. Hayon said ?By cutting [Caesarstone] with the hi-tech technology that they?ve got, you get an amazing result like a 21st century marquetry, which is actually something you don?t see so often.?
