From the moment we stepped into the West Texas home of Jessica Reilly in 2017, it was clear we were meeting a homeowner unafraid of a little color and pattern. Her laundry room and guest bathroom, however, had yet to get her magic touch. Inspired by her own family and filled with fun finds, the two spaces are now complete and today Jessica’s letting us show them off. What inspired the design"
I always envisioned the laundry room having some sort of an eclectic vibe due to my personal style, however, after living here [for] two years, I thought about taking a more humble, cottage-design… I ran with that idea until I applied shiplap [to] the ceiling and I realized I hated it and it wasn’t me. It wasn’t my family. I added black trim in-between the seams of the shiplap, and I let the room guide me on everything else. I personally believe that you can walk into a space, and the mood and atmosphere of that room can help guide you in your design decisions.
