Over the past 15 years I’ve lived in eight different spaces, and the vast majority of them have been teeny tiny with little wiggle room for customization (renter rules). But in almost all of my spaces, I’ve found small ways to make them my own without going too overboard. My favorite trick" Wallpapering small closets so that when you open the doors you get a huge dose of color and pattern in the most unexpected space. Most renters can’t wallpaper (although I did once have an apartment where I realized the landlord had used wallpaper to cover a GIANT HOLE IN THE WALL), but today there are so many awesome removable wallpaper brands that make it possible to get the same look without forfeiting your deposit. Today I’m sharing 12 of my favorite examples to inspire your next “small change with big impact” project. If you’re able to paint, picking a coordinating color with the paper is a great way to step things up a notch.
