I have a different theme for my Christmas gifts each year, influenced heavily by what excited me the most during the year. This year it was all about personal journeys, cocktails, salty, spicy and sweet food, tools for the kitchen to help you explore new ways of cooking and help make your manual jobs easier — and they made cooking through the In the Kitchen With archives a breeze! I’ve chosen memoirs with recipes, small-batch food products, and kitchen tools that fall into the splurge category (but most are ones you will keep for many years, and maybe even pass down to others). But I thought I would start off with a print of a kitchen tool by Hugh Acheson because the proceeds go to Seed Life Skills, a non-profit group dedicated to empowering youth to be sustainable stewards of food and financial resources. —KristinaÂ
