It never does go away; I’m talking the rain.
Even if we have had one of the hottest and driest summers in Europe, I know it it is not forever. Rainy days are one of the consistent facts of life and possibly one of the ones I am least prepared for.
Do I ever have an umbrella in my bag when my hair is freshly blow-dried" No. Is there ever a raincoat in the back of the car when a torrential downpour threatens" Of course not. I’m the mad dasher type with my collar stretched up over my head or my shopping bag pretending to be an umbrella. We all know how successful that is.
A couple of weekends ago we all ventured into the countryside for a family weekend. We visited Derbyshire and the beautiful Chatsworth; our visit coincided with an open-air screening of Dirty Dancing in the grounds. The best fun ever. Chatsworth is a magnificent stately home and to watch a favourite classic was a wonderful experience. What has this got to do with raincoats"
For once I was prepared; I read the forecast and saw it coming.
Except I wasn’t.
I found myself the best raincoat; I mean this one is absolutely fabulous. Practical and looks super good despite being waterproof. I love it so much I was going to wear it at the hint of the merest drop; even without a drop, this coat was making an appearance.
And it did but ...
