Black pants; how many are too many"
I would say there could never be too many little black dresses or black pants.
Black pants and I get on famously and we are together all the time. They are my very best friend when I travel and if I have relaxed the rules and gained the kilos they are my number one saviour.
Black pants, whatever style and there are many, simply work.
I get crushes on a certain shape and length.
Last year I was all skinny; this year I’m wearing them slightly fuller and higher in the waist. This has something to do with my love of sneakers and cosy sweaters right now. The balance looks right.
And then there is velvet.
It is true; I adore everything velvet and velvet trousers are my latest love.
They are fabulous. I wear these with silk, with cashmere and with the chunky knits and still my trainers. If I want to smarten myself up I will wear the velvet pants, silk blouse and a mule style of shoe or short bootie.
One tip.
Don’t buy velvet trousers too tight. They look better if they fall loosely through the legs and the velvet lasts longer and stays plusher. I wear mine quite baggy and usually go up one size to ensure they fall well. Elasticised waists are the easiest and most wearable style in velvet.
Wear them with a velvet blazer and mix the shades.
The black velvet pants look so wonderful with the eme...
