There is one little thing I can never go without.
I truly appreciate its value but sometimes I forget how useful and what a lifesaver this one small item can be.

Obviously, it is the red lips.
Ever since I started my silver journey wearing a red lip has become more important than ever. As much as a full grey head of hair is entirely liberating it can also be very challenging. There are bad hair days, so so skin days and puffy everything moments. Life, as much as we have been slow-rolling, can be hectic and full of surprises. We can get a last-minute invitation where we get caught in the less than glamorous outfit; that’s where the red lip can save the day. Like a black turtleneck and pants, the addition of a bright smile is a game-changer.
Once you embrace the silver the colour palette for clothing and make-up changes and where the neutral lips (Tadzio is a winner) are still a much-loved option I do find I wear less around the eye and more on the lips. Age seems to have made my eyes more sensitive and apart from a smudge of pencil and a good coating of mascara I generally leave it at that. Even on my bad hair days, the red – especially this burnt red – picks me right up. I have tried and have more red shades of lipstick than I care to divulge but this matte lip gloss style is seriously the best.
