Renters Rejoice! 4 DIY Projects That Move With You
I’m Chelsea, and I blog over at Making Home Base. I love sharing inexpensive DIY and decorating ideas that anyone can do. I seriously get giddy making a house feel like home. Rental decorating is a specialty of mine after moving eight times in the last ten years. In each home we’ve lived, I’ve made it a priority to spruce up the space by adding a splash of my own personal style. Rentals often pose interesting limitations that require you to get creative to make the space work for you. Adding personalized yet temporary touches that can move with you can make you feel at home wherever you go. I am so excited that this creativity landed one of my projects in the “I Did It” feature in the February 2017 issue of Better Homes and Gardens! DIY Entryway Organizer: Our previous home lacked storage, big time. We built this DIY entryway organizer, pictured above, to serve as a drop zone. Our girls store their shoes in the basket below and the hooks hold coats, backpacks, and keys. Download the instructions for this project here.
Grid Accent Wall: Inspired by a board-and-batten wall treatment, I used vinyl stripes to create an accent wall with the same visual interest. The decals come off just as easily as they go on with no harm to the walls. It’s the perfect solution for rentals.
