Pita: A Modern, Multifunctional Daybed for Any Room
A cool daybed for extra seating, TV watching, lounging, or overnight guests.
Caterina Moretti, of Guadalajara, Mexico based design studio Peca, collaborated with Alejandra Carmona on a multifunctional daybed called Pita. With a wooden structure of turned oak, the Pita Daybed is a practical addition to just about any room. Whether you need places to sit during the day, lounge space for TV watching in the evening, and/or a bed for overnight guests, it packs it all into one compact design.
The frame features subtlety slanted legs, some of which extend up to become back rests for the cushions. An upholstered grey cushion acts as the seat with the addition of two triangular pillows for back supports or a place to rest your head. To round it out, there’s a bolster pillow covered in leather that features piteado, a traditional embroidery technique that inspired the daybed’s name.
