Our living room has shed so much weight, and yet somehow, it gained so much more seating! It started earlier this year, when I suggested to Scott that I was maybe-kind-of-sort-of feeling like we needed to lighten things up. After Lucy was born, we spent the majority of our time upstairs, bouncing between her nursery and studio-slash-living-turned-play-area. It was a habit that started to stick during the first month of her life, as a way to wind down from the day and begin our evening routine with a newborn. We would turn the lights on low, read books and, after putting Lucy down for the night, we’d stay nearby and relax to a movie (or endless Friends reruns, let’s be real). It may seem strange, but with the exception of using our kitchen, we stopped hanging out in our main living room almost altogether.
