Chino Canyon House is a renovation and addition to a home built in 1954 at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains in Palm Springs, California. Hundred Mile House envisioned a new L-shaped configuration for the building, which wraps around an entry courtyard.“The primary goal with the program was to maintain the unique character of the original structure while upgrading the home to be more energy efficient, spacious and functional,” the architects said. “Square footage was more than doubled, but the street presence was kept minimal.” The addition includes a new swimming pool and outdoor patio, which connects to the living area.
