Kresings Architektur completed House N° 3, a renovation and extension of an old building overlooking the medieval small town of Pollença, in Mallorca, Spain. The project aimed to reflect the atmosphere and qualities of the region.“When entering the building, one notices the comfortable temperature,” the architects said. “This is due to the ground floor having thick brick walls. The walls regulate the interior temperature throughout the year. Also, distinctively of the region, the floor plates are supported by olive-timber beams, which give the spaces their unique quality.”
The four-level residence comes with a total surface of 125 square meters (1,345 square feet) and has three en-suite bedrooms. Access to the upper floors is provided by a central stairway.
