Holiday decorations at the White House are in another league.
It’s not the same in Europe; we go all out with the magic in our avenues, on the boulevards and in our department stores but not to the same extent with public buildings. Yes, we do add the pretty and it is pretty fabulous, but the White House is a whole other story.
Rich red baubles with elaborate gold detailing or simple and effective white and green boughs are a joyful signifier that the holidays are in full swing. Whether your personal style is decorating your home to look minimal and elegant or creating your very own sumptuous back-garden grotto, embellishment is an essential part in our Christmas festivities.
Every year, the White House goes above and beyond with its Christmas décor, never failing to impress with their luxurious yet homely feel. This year was no exception as the First Lady joined in, putting her very own twinkle on things. With help from event designer, Bryan Rafanelli, the details captured the spirit of Michelle Obama’s most loved causes.
