It’s the holidays and there is always the risk that the exercise routine gets put to one side.
Well, I admit to falling into bad habits during the holidays. I don’t want to and nor do I mean to – but it happens.
This holiday season, I am paying attention.
A sunny trip at the beginning of the year (meaning less cover-up and nowhere to hide) is helping me stay on track and keep moving. With the gift giving under control and the travel wardrobe taking shape, I am looking forward to that deliciously quiet time between Christmas and New Year. I’m going to re-stock the athleisure (Athletic/leisure; such an oxymoron when I consider my idea of leisure – which is not athletic in any shape or form) gear in my wardrobe. Sportswear is more sophisticated now and even though I stay true to the simple, I’m happy to smarten it up a bit too.
Working towards a “better, not younger” approach to ageing has taught me exercise is the key.
Moving, in whatever form you choose, makes all the difference to flexibility, posture and strength but also to our mental agility. Looking the part is equally as important as feeling the part and is why I want a new edit. I go out to the gym so I indulge my love of coats and capes every time I leave.
