In the centuries before was discussed and proved the importance of the building orientation and use of the natural heat- the Sun. The way of a building’s situation on the site, positioning of the windows, rooflines, and other features are the key elements that makes the building good or bad oriented. A solar design orientation is what takes advantage of the passive and active solar strategies.  Passive solar strategies use the natural energy from the sun to heat and illuminate buildings. Unlike passive solar heating, active solar heating uses mechanical and electrical equipment in order to enhance the conversion of solar energy to heat and electric power.
