A problem that is more often with older houses is an uneven floor. Luckily, leveling the floor can be easy project that will help you a lot making the floor even, smooth and functional for your needs. Here are several steps you need to make so the job will be done easier: measuring is first and a base of all process. Cut a leveling strip ?that is a very long triangle ? from a 2? x 10? and that will visually help you do the measuring.  Next – position the leveling strip on the floor and see if the top edge of the strip checks out as level. Than cut several leveling strips with the same size with the original strip and if the floor slants irregularly, cut strips that bridge the cap at each floor joist. Install plywood subfloor.
