Pharaonic Architectural Project in Vietnam
The architectural practice Buro Ole Scheeren has just unveiled plans to build a monumental 333-metre-high skyscraper on the banks of the Saigon River in Vietnam. This pharaonic project will be launched in Ho Chi Min, the second largest city in the country, and will consist of three towers housing apartments, offices, shops and a hotel. At the top of the main building, a public viewing point will allow tourists to enjoy the landscape from above, while terraced gardens, reminiscent of vietnamese rice fields, will welcome visitors. The luxuriant vegetation contrasts with the apparent modernism of the project but tends to show that nature and contemporaneity are not always irreconcilable.
