Marvelous Architecture of GaudÃ’s Casa Vicens
Architectural photographer David Cardelús have recently worked for Casa Vicens designed by Antoni GaudÃ. Considered as an architectural jewel of Barcelona, the building is registered on the UNESCO world heritage list.
The house is considered the first remarkable architectural work of the Spanish architect. This grandiose building is decorated with oriental motifs and brightly colored garnishes, typical of Gaudà style. The rooms have not been modified since the creation but the house now has now a cultural dimension and a museum function. The idea is to present this essential work, to decipher its architectural language and the development of Modernism in Barcelona. Born and raised in Barcelona, David Cardelús studied photography, film and video before becoming a lecturer in architecture photography at Pompeu Fabra ELISAVA University. He hopes one day to be able to photograph all the buildings of the famous Catalan architect.
