Footing in the architecture means a foundation (or, more commonly, foundations). It is the element of an architectural structure which connects it to the ground, and transfers loads from the structure to the ground. The term footing is used in conjunction with shallow foundations commonly. A footing is a foundation unit constructed in brick work, masonry or concrete under the base of a wall or a column for the purpose of distributing the load over a large area. In the civil engineering concrete slab, is a very common and important structural element,  that provides flat, useful surfaces.
