Boundary Elements a Shear Wall Has
Shear wall is a stiff which resists earthquake and wind forces (dfined by Lateral force Resisting System (LFRS). The buildings are usually designed in such a way guided towards these LFRS systems. Sometimes in a case of extreme winds bowing, the building experiences almost a constant lateral pressure and some across wind vibrations. But, earthquake is hard to predict and very random and cyclic event. This means you building is constantly pumped by a huge amount of energy and you have to figure a way out to push the energy our of the building. Read more in the link bellow.
