AYG House: Four Levels of Comfort and Luxury
Located in Mexico City, Mexico, the AYG House is a residence designed by Miguel de la Torre mta+v in 2022.
The challenge was to design the building in such a way that it respected the land as much as possible, taking advantage of its qualities. The architectural proposal had to fulfill certain regulations of the site, like making reference to some “typical” materials. Concrete volumes were resolved with certain elements of metal structure, making its reading very light. Additionally, a perimeter garden was designed to subtly integrate the house into the natural landscape.
About AYG House
We discovered a property surrounded by vegetation and a variety of large trees on our first visit, which was quite impressive. We realized that this house should be designed taking into account its natural environment, challenging ourselves to respect the land as much as possible while making use of its qualities. This gave us the opportunity to develop a design originally only for two people, without the need for more than one bedroom or a space for social coexistence. However, a couple of additional spaces were added to the program in order to receive guests outside the house, if necessary, integrating them into the house activities in public areas, gardens, terraces, and porches.
